Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Sugar Squad Burst ("Sugar Squad Burst", "we", "us" or "our") handles your information when you use the Sugar Squad Burst mobile game (the "App") and this website. We built Sugar Squad Burst to keep things simple: there is no account, no purchase, and we run no server of our own. Your progress lives on your device. The only third party involved is Google AdMob, which shows a rewarded ad when, and only when, you choose to watch one.
Sugar Squad Burst is published by Adam ALET EI (see the "Editor and Contact" section below). We are the data controller for the processing described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Data stored only on your device
The following data is created and stored locally, in the App's private storage on your device, and is never transmitted to us:
- Your game progress: the run in progress, your berlingots (the in-game currency), your upgrades and the characters you have unlocked.
- Your settings, such as sound and music volume.
- Simple game counters (for example, how many runs you have started or which room ended a run). They are kept on your device only and are never sent anywhere.
We have no account system, no cloud save, no analytics service and no crash-reporting service. Because nothing is sent to us, we cannot see, restore or transfer this data. It is deleted when you uninstall the App or clear its data.
Advertising data (Google AdMob)
The App offers an optional rewarded ad at the end of a run. No ad is ever requested at launch, and the App shows no banners and no interstitial ads. When you tap the ad button, Google AdMob loads and shows the ad. To do so, Google may collect:
- Your device's advertising identifier: the IDFA on iOS, only if you allow it through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, or the Android advertising ID on Android.
- Your IP address, which can be used to estimate your approximate location.
- Information about your device (such as model, operating system and language).
- Your interactions with the ad, and diagnostic data about ad delivery.
This data is collected directly by Google, under Google's Privacy Policy. We do not receive it in a form that identifies you.
Your consent
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google's consent message asks for your choice the first time you tap the ad button, never at launch. On iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt asks whether the App may use your advertising identifier. If you decline, you may still see ads, but they are not personalized. Declining changes nothing else in the game.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To run the game and keep your progress on your device.
- To show you a rewarded ad when you ask for one, and to grant its reward.
- To respond to your support requests, when you write to us.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
3. Legal Bases for Processing
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR: your consent for personalized advertising (which you can withdraw at any time, see section 8); the performance of a contract and our legitimate interests to provide the game you downloaded, including non-personalized ads that keep it free.
4. Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of providers, each acting under their own privacy policy:
- Google AdMob: rewarded ads and the consent message. Privacy policy · How Google uses data from apps that use its services.
- Apple: App Store distribution on iOS. Privacy policy.
- Google: Google Play distribution on Android. Privacy policy.
- Vercel: hosting of this website. Privacy policy.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We hold no personal data on our side to share. Advertising data is collected by Google AdMob as described above, only when you choose to watch an ad.
6. International Data Transfers
Google may process advertising data outside the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. Where personal data is transferred to a third country, Google relies on a valid GDPR Chapter V transfer mechanism, such as Standard Contractual Clauses and/or an adequacy decision.
7. Data Retention
Data stored on your device remains until you uninstall the App or clear its data. We keep no copy. Advertising data is retained by Google according to its own policies. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to answer you.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, export and delete your personal data, and to withdraw your consent or object to certain processing. Since we hold no personal data on any server, here is how to act directly:
- Game data: uninstall the App, or clear its data, to delete everything it stored.
- Tracking on iOS: go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and turn the App off.
- Advertising ID on Android: go to Settings → Google → Ads to reset or delete your advertising ID.
- Your ad consent choice: the App does not have an in-game privacy settings screen yet. To be asked again, clear the App's data or reinstall it. Note that this also erases your local progress. You can also write to us and we will help.
- Data held by Google: see Google's Privacy Policy and your Google account settings.
For any request, contact us at adam@resend.sugarsquad.app. If you are in the EU, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — in France, the CNIL.
9. Children's Privacy
Sugar Squad Burst is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the App, please contact us.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the App. Your continued use of Sugar Squad Burst after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
